Food for Thought Week 7: Rosemary

Hi everyone, we hope you're having a great week and enjoying the Holiday.

This week, as the heat remains oppressive and the rabbits devour our poor peppers, we walk over to the rosemary.

Rosemary is a great herb because it pretty much keeps growing not matter how hot it gets and how little you tend to it.  Beyond that, it complements many a meal with its unique flavor and aromatics.

In terms of its health value, rosemary has been equated for centuries with a good memory.  Modern medical studies may now know why:  one of the active compounds of rosemary called carnosol shows antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties on brain cells.  Although this clinical support is preliminary, you can feel good the next time you eat a dish with rosemary that not only does it taste good, it may be helping your brain as well!
